Literature Text

Just after the twins had switched places, a crash was heard from outside,
followed by yelling and screams of agony from inside the castle. "The army...they
got in." Kaoru whispered softly. Hikaru was still crying, pleading Kaoru not to go out
there as him, but Kaoru refused. Instead he locked Hikaru in their room, then he walked
into the throne room and sat down just in time for the doors to fly off their hinges.

He sat in his brother's chair, looking the picture perfect image of him. It even seemed to fool Kyouya as he pressed a javelin to Kaoru's throat, cutting the skin very lightly. Kaoru gave his best Hikaru voice, which sounded just like him. "How unpleasant Kyouya Sempai...I did not think you would get in so quickly..bastard." Kyouya smirked, then the army guards came forward, hauling him out of the chair and dragging him out roughly.

Sometime in the afternoon, Hikaru finally broke out of the bedroom. "KAORU!!"
He screamed desperately but it came out a hoarse sob, as he had been screaming for hours. He rushed through the castle, trying to find his little brother. After searching every inch of the building, he found nothing but broken furniture, smashed windows, and his dead soldiers.

He ran out into the courtyard, then looked up upon hearing the town crier. "Hear ye, hear ye! Prince Hikaru's execution scheduled for tomorrow morning at sunrise! Trial has been held and he was quickly found guilty! Prince Kaoru not held accountable!"

Hikaru fell to his knees, burying his face in his hands and crying feverishly. "No! What have I done?!" He jumped up and darted out of the courtyard, grabbing an old cloak and wrapping it around himself. As more tears fell, he only knew one thing; he had to confess that he was the real Hikaru.

The next day, a horn blew loudly and the large town bell tolled, sounding together like a tragic melody of mourning. As the sun began to rise, the prince of orange was brought out, his wrists wrapped in tight ropes. The real prince of sky blue was hidden in the crowd under the dark cloak, the same cloak Nekozawa had been wearing at his execution. Kaoru was brought onto the stage where a guillotine was waiting, ready to shed the blood of the guilty, or in some cases, the innocent. Just as the prayer was being read, Hikaru rushed through the crowd at top speed.

"STOP!!" Every head jerked in his direction as he pulled the cloak off. "I am the real Hikaru!!" He waited for them to rush over and grab him, to let Kaoru go free, but instead he was restrained by prince Morinozuka and Haninozuka. "Don't try to be a hero Kaoru...you know Hikaru is guilty, you saw him do everything he did."

Hikaru looked to see Kyouya speaking. After adjusting his glasses once more, Kyouya
nodded at the priest, who finished the prayer. Hikaru struggled as hard as he could, begging Mori and Hani to let him go, but no such thing occurred. Kaoru looked up as best as he could, his head in the contraption, and he smiled softly as the lever was pulled, mouthing to his twin. "Even if it meant being evil, I would become evil for you..."
